We love apple butter on its own or used as an ingredient. This is a great brunch recipe. We have prepared apple butter for the filling in the farm store or you can make our family recipe for Apple Butter from scratch. It is wonderfully spicy and full of concentrated apple goodness.

Ingredients:
8 slices bread
4 eggs
1 cup milk
1 Tbsp. maple syrup
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 Tbsp butter
1/4 cup apple butter
confections sugar for dusting

Directions:
In a shallow pan, whisk together the eggs, milk,
maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
Working in batches, dip the bread into the mixture and soak on both sides.
Melt half the butter in a large saute pan and cook the bread over medium heat for about four minutes. Turn when the bottom is golden and crispy and continue until both sides are done.
Lay half of the french toast on a platter and lightly cover each slice with the apple butter. Top with the next layer. Dust with confectioners sugar and serve.
