DESCRIPTION:Kite Day is a perfect time to explore the farm during our spring festival – Saturday\, May 2nd & Sunday\, May 3rd – 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Spring on the farm is one of the most beautiful and exciting seasons. All is ready for the bountiful growing season. Bring your own kite or choose a ready-made kite from the wide selection in the store. Or better yet\, make your own “guaranteed to fly” kite. Whichever you choose\, test fly your kite in our wide-open 10-acre pasture with all the farm animals looking on. \nThe farm will ring with country music and entertainment all weekend. The sheep will be shorn on Sunday and children can take home a piece of real fleece. On Saturday\, the Princeton Morris Dancers will perform traditional May Day dances. Enjoy live music 1-4pm each day: Bakersfield on Saturday and Mike & Laura Band on Sunday. \nTake a pony ride or wagon ride. Get festive with face painting! Join in the fun of old-fashioned games and children’s activities in the barnyard such as hopscotch and hula hoop the horse – have a great time playing on the farm. Our special children’s play houses will be open: the Junior Mechanic Shop and Little Tots Farm Store. Don’t miss taking a hop in the Hippity Hop Corral or taking a duck for a Ducky Race. \nFor all those hungry kite fliers\, we’ll have lots of good country food. The whole family will enjoy Terhune Orchards’ famous apples\, cider\, donuts\, pies\, country chili\, hot dogs\, our own fresh and grilled asparagus\, salads\, soup and all kinds of cookies and goodies. \nAdults can enjoy a visit to our Wine Orchard\, where Terhune’s own 18 varieties of wine are available for tasting under the 100 year old apple trees. Tasting flights\, wine by the glass\, and wine slushies will be available to toast to Spring. \nThere is nothing like spring on the farm. Once Terhune Orchards Vineyard and Winery was established and the Winery Weekend Music Series established\, Pam and Gary could be found every weekend enjoying the live music in our “romance orchard.”  \nTerhune Orchards has long been a supporter of local musicians\, and they are coming together on this day to honor Gary and his love for music. DESCRIPTION:Read & Pick is an innovative program that combines a hands-on farm activity with your young child followed by an education program with stories highlighting the fruit or farm area. \nParents and young children (ages preschool to 8 years) are welcome to celebrate everything wonderful about farm animals.  In this session\, we will read books about farm animals followed by an educational component.  Then everyone will participate in a farm craft activity with wool from Terhune Orchards sheep! \nThe cost is $12.00 per child and includes the craft activity. There are two sessions on Tuesdays at 9:30am and 11am\, each lasting about one hour. Online pre-purchase of tickets is required. \n\nRegister Here

DESCRIPTION:Kick off Summer and strawberry season on the farm at not one\, but two weekends of our second annual Strawberry Festival! Join us on Saturday and Sunday\, May 30 & 31 and June 6 & 7\, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. for a weekend party to celebrate these plump and juicy berries. Treat your family to a berry fun day! \nChildren will enjoy fun all around the farm. Take a wagon ride around the farm from 11am-3pm\, play on our tractors and playhouses\, and say hello to our barnyard animal friends. Enjoy children’s games and activities. Don’t miss the hippity hop corral\, rubber ducky race\, hop scotch\, apple basket bean bag toss\, and much more. Take a pony ride around the pasture. Have fun exploring the farm with our scavenger hunt. \nDon’t miss a day full of activities at our Strawberry Festival\, including special craft activities\, NJ Bubble Parties (two shows a day!) and Pam’s Strawberry Buffet food pavilion. \nAdmission to Strawberry Festival is required for entry to the farm (ages 3 and up).
