Diggers & Planters Program
Join in the fun of getting our farm fields ready. The Diggers & Planters series will allow children ages 8 years to 12 years to experience farming first hand. Future farmers will prepare, plant, and grow!! Come to any and all.
Each program costs $10 per child. Limit 15 diggers per session. Please register in advance by calling the farm store.
Schedule for 2011
The programs are on Tuesdays after-school, 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm. . You must check in for each program in the store at 330 Cold Soil Road.
June 7 - Propagation - seeds, cuttings, divisions of larger plants
June 14- Garden Preparation - soil preparation, adding nutrients, grading, mulching
June 21- Garden Tools & Safety - introduction to tools (how they are used), safe use and storage, prper cleaning and maintenance, Digging!
July 5 - Plant Diversity (uses, textures, colors, sizes) Explore different roots and stems, habitats & pollinators, trees, shrubs, herbs,
